Went Behind-the-Rocks to the Snake site for Equinox. The trail - TopicsExpress

Went Behind-the-Rocks to the Snake site for Equinox. The trail goes to the left. Got to to the site in time to take some pictures of the Warrior Panel. This alignment only happens twice a year. The first astronomical marker I decoded, fall of 1994 (thanks to the help from Jose Knighton and Devin Vaughn) was the position of the Equinox sunset from a Basetmaker-era pit house ruin at the site. I hadnt been there in a few years and was yearning to see it again. I also took a selfie of me and the Snake. I met three people on the way in. They were using directions provided by a fee-based website called climb utah. Two of them were from Chicago, struggling, and way out of their depth. The climb utah site includes GPS. Such is the world we live in and the challenges we face. Just for the record, I have never taken any money for anything related to the Snake and I suspect that the people at climb utah are bottom-feeding scum suckers. If you want to know more about the Snake site look me up on YouTube and check out The Snake: Seasons of the Sacred Sky. Although I had this slide show prepared, I did not post it until people like climb utah and the local Sierra Club started posting.
