Went on a long trip yesterday from here to Fort Benning, Georgia. Perry did his NCO training there and we spent our first 4 married months there. That was in 1969. I always wanted to go back and finally made it. They have erected a monument for the NCOs and I have wanted to see it. Jean and Rich took me there yesterday and I had such a feeling of relief, having gotten one more thing on my bucket list done. I seen the beautiful monument and they also have a monument for Vietnam Veterans that is for the 25th Infantry. It was awesome but between the two monuments I had tears. We also went to the old trailer park I used to live in there. Thank God I dont live there anymore. Such a dump! We did a little shopping at the PX, then at a couple stores outside of the base. Even though it brought back many memories, some good and some that brought me to tears, I loved it. I have such wonderful friends to take me 600 miles round trip just to cross one more thing off my bucket list.
