Went to an Open Mic tonight. It was mainly folks doing the Blues , although I was told it was open to Country too ! I love listening to the Blues so I sat there over an hour . Each act did about 5 or 6 Loooong Blues songs. The guy in front of me did 3 loooonggg songs with an electric Blues band , then 5 fairly lengthy acoustic songs ! He was good and I enjoyed it. THEN , at last, my turn ! I did 4, 2 1/2 to 3 minute songs and was quickly told that was all . ( Most of the crowd seemed to enjoy my songs). The same Blues guys from earlier with the addition of a great picker and a drunk Foul Mouthed woman took my place ! It wouldnt bother me so much but she got up and said Now that we got rid of the F$%#ing Country S^%& , we can play some good music ! No one said anything to the drunken Pig so I left and I must admit I slipped and said something not too nice to her as I left ! ( I hate it when I let trashy people upset me ! ) ANYHOW , although the two people that run it are polite to me, I wont be back where I get treated like that ! Im sure it wont bother them too much , but Ill let my other Non-Blues friends know about my treatment !
