Were about to go over 8,000 members. Its great that we have so many people interested Native and Indigenous issues, and I work hard to keep this group focused in that way. If you’re looking to join this group, please know that I’ll have a quick look at your page at least. If I can’t see your page and basic info about you, you won’t be joining this one. For current members, I think you know that means this is a serious group, there’s no spam, and most of the membership consists of human beings. Thanks for all your contributions. Keep in mind, though, with this many members the potential for posting duplication is high, so please give a quick scan to see if someone’s already shared your article. I will say again--no spam, no sales (services/crafts/education--there are other sites for that), no proselytizing. No night night white wolf pics and no new agey bs. No joke and no warnings—those things will get you deleted. Lets keep it respectful. For 2015, a couple of new rules—no more than two words in ALL CAPS. That’s digital yelling, and nobody likes that. Also, unless it relates directly to Native issues, share no comments on “libs,” “repugs” (or whatever). Related—watch your spelling and watch your tone. I think this page has done a good job of showing multiple opinions on issues. That’s what it’s for. Having said that, though, I will say that I find the use of “Native” mascots and appropriation of Native culture deeply offensive. Please do not try to convert me. Speaking of conversion (see rule #3), your religious / spiritual views are your own—you should probably keep them to yourself. Finally, I created this group because the Facebook newsfeed used to put every Native story under the header Native American History. History? The only thing thats history is that header. Were still here. And always will be. Let’s keep it going.
