Were having a quite New Year after our adventures in Belgium. I met a nice guy on the coach who used to work in the tax office and were keeping in touch. On New Years Eve, I went with by Carmen and her parents to a local club - there was a band and a Scotsman playing bagpipes. Im using my free time for cooking - my pork joint was a success and theres more pork, chicken, gammon and turkey in the freezer. Our oven is ideal for baking cakes because you can use 3 shelves at the same temperature without swapping over tins during the cooking cycle. The fan grilling function is ideal for browning and grilling thick meat such as steaks. I havent used the multi functions yet but will use them when I start baking cakes for the first time. Its still a battle getting mum out of bed. When I go back to work, I plan to go home for lunch rather than go to McDonalds. This will enable me to give her lunch and take her downstairs before I return home. This is a temporary measure until the situation improves. A change of routine for the New Year - no more late starts otherwise my plan will fail.
