Were neither the worse if we dont, nor the better if we do! Im posting some scripture verses and comments which serve as principles and guidelines to help us decide what is wise and correct regarding food, drink, substances in general, holidays, sabbath days, etc. The following scriptures speak to me about the freedom I have in Christ to eat and drink whatever I want, or not to eat and drink whatever I dont want. Im not to judge anyone regarding food, drink, or any substances they have approved by their own faith, whether they be medicinal or recreational. In Christ Im free to observe a festival or a holiday, or not to observe it. In Christ Im free to choose a day of rest (Sabbath) according to my schedule. There are other scripture verses I can post but I dont want to overwhelm you. Heres a few. Be blessed and free in the Lord! ~ Cheito- __________________________________________________________ 1 Corinthians 10: 31- 31-Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. _____________________________________________________________ 1 Corinthians 10:23;24 23-All things are lawful, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful, but not all things edify. 24-Let no one seek his own good, but that of his neighbor. __________________________________________________________ 1 Corinthians 8:8;9 8-But food will not commend us to God; we are neither the worse if we do not eat, nor the better if we do eat. 9-But take care that this liberty of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak. ___________________________________________________________ Romans 14:22;23 22-The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. 23-But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin. ___________________________________________________________ Romans 14:1-3;5;6; 1-Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions. 2-One person has faith that he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats vegetables only. 3-The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to judge the one who eats, for God has accepted him. 5-One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind. 6-He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God. ____________________________________________________________ Colossians 2: 8-10 16;17; 20-22 8-See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. 9-For in Him (Jesus) all the fullness of Deity (God) dwells in bodily form, 10-and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority; 16-Therefore dont let anyone act as your judge concerning what food you eat, what you drink, or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day— 17-things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ. 20-If you have died with Christ to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to decrees, such as, 21-“Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!” 22-which all refer to things destined to perish with use—in accordance with the commandments and teachings of men?
