West Coast Sentinel.7 October 1953. Ceduna. At the AGM of the shareholders of the Community Hotel… the trading account presented by the secretary, Mr H A Betts, disclosed that the nett profit for the year, two thousand two hundred and fifty pounds, was the best since the hotel was taken over by the community. The total assets of the hotel are valued at thirty four thousand, two hundred and ninety pounds… six hundred and fifty-eight pounds was paid for income tax… Building improvements carried out during the year comprised of modernising the existing ladies bathroom and conveniences, whilst the installation of the latest refrigeration in the bar had cost nearly one thousand pounds. Messrs H G Watson, F A Tonkin and E F Kelly were re-elected as directors and Mr C E Kelly was elected to fill the vacancy caused by the retirement of Mr A E Kloeden.
