West (4-4) allowed only two hits and did not issue a walk after walking the leadoff man Darnell Sweeney to start the game. Lancaster gave West an early lead with a run in the bottom of the first. Delino DeShields walked against starter Carlos Frias (0-1) and promptly stole second base to put himself in scoring position. After moving to third base on a fly ball, DeShields scored when Andrew Aplin blooped a base hit into left field. Telvin Nash extended the lead with a solo home run in the fourth inning, his second home run in as many days. With the homer, Nash tied teammate Preston Tucker for the most on the team with 12. The JetHawks put up another run against Frias in the fifth inning. Joe Sclafani led off with a double and Frias balked him to third base. Sclafani scored on a Tucker ground ball to second base. The RBI was Tucker’s league-leading 63rd of the season. Tommy Shirley, the tandem starter entered the game in the sixth inning and gave up the first run of the game. Sweeney led off with a single, moved to second base on a Noel Cuevas walk and scored on Casio Grider ground ball base hit into centerfield. Scott Schebler hit a solo homer off Shirley in the eighth inning to cut the JetHawks lead to 3-2. Lancaster added an insurance run in the eighth inning thanks to some Freddie Cabrera wildness. Matt Duffy reached on a two-out single and Chris Epps followed with a line drive single. Cabrera then unleashed a wild pitch to move Duffy up to third and another to score him. Travis Ballew walked O’Koyea Dickson to start the ninth inning but went on to strike out the side to end the game and pick up his 11th save.
