Western Swing violinist Bob Wills, leader of The Texas Playboys, was born on this day in 1905 in Kosse, TX. Bob Wills is significant to this column because he was an innovator and a maverick who changed the shape of the way popular music was played. Wills included many Black Blues into his repertoire (One of The Texas Playboys biggest hits was Sittin` On Top Of The World).
