Westpac IT team are the latest group to enjoy our Kids Giving Back Cook4Good:Welcome Feast, learning how to make Iranian and Bangladeshi culinary treats from the House of Welcomes chefs Maryam, Maryam and Umma. In addition to enjoying the fruits of their labour, the team sent 101 meals back to the House of Welcomes asylum seeker community. The goal of all KGB programs is to connect communities, and for the recipient community to benefit by way of meals, or by spending time with our volunteers. HoW Programs Manager Jo Lee facilitated an eye-opening and thought provoking discussion. Cook4Good:Welcome Feast is an opportunity for connection between people seeking asylum and refugees and the wider community - sharing stories and celebrating difference and unity are at the heart of this program. Our gratitude as always goes to the brilliant team at #OurBigKitchen - the immaculate running of the kitchen is the obvious bit, but its the love the team brings to their work that fills the kitchen with soul.
