Weve been asked to share details of the following volunteer opportunity... OPPORTUNITY FOR WILDLIFE BIOLOGISTS The Willamette National Forest in Oregon/USA will host a volunteer as part of the International Exchange Visitor - Wildlife Biologist Program from May 1 through July of 2015, with the possibility of extension. The visiting biologist will offer conservation education activities for schools and other community organizations, with an emphasis on birds and wildlife. In addition, they will also conduct bird surveys including bald eagles, peregrine falcons, as well as assist with bumble bee surveys. Other work would include wildlife habitat enhancement work. There will be opportunities to learn about general natural resource management work in the U.S. Forest Service, and assist with a variety of district wildlife and other projects. Requirements: A good comprehension of English, knowledge and some experience with birds, experience with and a strong interest in conservation education, public speaking, a driver’s license in your home country, and the ability to work outdoors. An advantage is experience working with birds. All expenses are covered, including roundtrip airfare from your home country to Oregon, housing, a per diem allowance to cover food expenses, and emergency medical insurance.
