Weve had a stretch of beautiful weather and finally tonight the air was perfect at close down. No wind, about 50 degrees and lots of happy babies hoping for Spring! Mother natures way of fooling us all, although I admit to wearing shorts and sandals tonight for the evening festivities. So many new gray faces in our midst currently. December is always the out with the old, in with the new month and thus in January after the hectic month of December, we find ourselves with more seniors than at any other time of the year. Youngsters start arriving mid to late February typically although the last few years, I no longer know what typical might be. One thing I do know; I LOVE our seniors! You always know where you stand with a seasoned hound. Tonight old Henry was mouthing off for pizza bones left over from Sundays volunteer effort. I admit I caved. One of my biggest fears is that one day I will face hundreds, nay - thousands of hounds at the bridge and the judgement will be based on not treating! Here I am, the food b*tch, keeping our babies happy and healthy - yet one day I fear the hounds will get to say: YOU DENIED ME CHOCOLATE YOU EVIL WOMAN!! See folks, no one is free from these doubts! I hope every hound had a good day, and that every hound servant sleeps well without fears of a basset firing squad!
