Weve had another good day today. Trae, with the help of therapist and support from slings, stood up for 20 minutes. It brought tears to my eyes to see my baby standing straight up, again. Im praying for the day that he can do it all on his own. I know some of you are confused as to whether he is awake or not. His eyes are open most of the day, but he is still not tracking our movements or consistantly following commands. During an hour of therapy the therapist says, at this time, she can get his full attention for about 5 minutes at which time he will sometimes respond to her or do as she ask. After which, he seems to be lost again. I am thankful for that at this point. 6 weeks ago, he was barely opening his eyes and not following commands at all. This is a long journey that, with the extensive damage Trae received, could take years of rehab and therapy. Our brains are amazing organs that never stop healing and adapting. I continue to keep my faith in our God and in Trae that, although this will be a hard road, we will get down it. Our Lord is not finished with Trae yet, he has bigger plans than this!! I will not give up on either of them, ever! Please keep the prayers flowing for Trae!! God is a healer and a miracle worker and I thank him for every small step Trae has taken, for I know he has taken it with him!! Thank you all for your continued love, support and, most importantly, your prayers!! We love and appreciate you all!! #pray4trae
