Weve spent the day here at CHOA working, making new friends and site seeing the gardens. Corrie had to get two more vaccinations today to complete her treatment before transplant. So shes had 7 vaccinations, been sedated twice and had countless blood draws in the past two weeks. In all fairness I made the doctors taste the oral cipro they wanted to give her:) They reluctantly tried of course and each one gagged of course cause it taste about like hand sanitizer. After that taste test they agreed to keep her getting cipro via IV and our meds will be delivered to our house on Wed. right after our flight arrives in Tampa Wed. morning. We were hoping for today but couldnt get the medicines, home health and flight coordinated till Wednesday morning. Corrie has become friends with little Alaina seen in the pictures who has a rare kidney disease. She is a frequent visitor to CHOA as well so we will be keeping in touch watching God heal these little girls as they grow. We also went outside and snapped a picture of the white Donate Life flag that flys anytime someone is getting a transplant. The chaplain said someone received a heart today so it was flying today. It is emotional as a parent of a child needing an organ to see that flag flying. It certainly made me stop and pray for the families involved in the transplant. Both those who donated life and received a second chance at life today. I am praying that my heart and emotions will be able to handle the day it is out their flying for Corrie. Thank you all for liking our page and following Corries Story. I pray you each are blessed for praying for us and keeping in touch!
