We’re all aware that scammers are already among us hoping to take money off desperate people looking to source cannabis products to treat various conditions. Most promise to supply quality medical cannabis products and people are either being supplied with dodgy crap or receive nothing at all. Recently, a request was shared to this page asking for donations to be made to a mob calling themselves Hunter Valley Cannabis. I posted a comment questioning the donation request and it wasn’t long before the whole thread was deleted by the original poster. The donation request has been shared to other pages including another recent arrival, the Australian Cannabis Club. I’ve just posted the following comment on that page which is similar to the comment I posted here. Isn’t Hunter Valley Cannabis just a couple of young UK guys with nothing to sell but grinders and future possibilities? Maybe they’re backpackers, I don’t know. I’m just catching up. I learned nothing new at their website which welcomes the “health conscious consumer”. Lofty phrases abound. “Our aims are to research”......”Our products will help”......”We hope to make our products available”...... “to patients in all states in the near future.” An invitation is made to the sick and dying to register interest and join a mailing list. Prominently displayed is “Please help those who thought theyd never need Hunter Valley Cannabis. Families in crisis urgently need your help. Donate Now!” Supporters of cannabis are urged to share on FB and Youtube, blah, blah. So what’s their story? Are they involved in the good work going on in their neck of the woods by others known by many members here? Or should they be given the Darryl Kerrigan response? (tell them theyre dreaming) I have no idea but I just thought I’d ask. Discuss, or not. The thread was almost immediately taken down by whoever it was that posted it. Now I notice it appears here on Australian Cannabis Club, yet another brand new FB page. I smell a scam.” New pages that appear to be sympathetic to medical cannabis appear regularly and I notice they are often ‘liked’ to soon by sincere members of this community and it is a worry.
