We’ve wrapped up the Alumni Decade Challenge and our decade of winners is…. The 1930s & 40s with 18% participation! Congratulations! The 30s and 40s at CA were the days when Clarence Quimby was Headmaster and oversaw the jumpy finances and enrollments caused by depression and war; when students made contributions to the U.S.O., Red Cross, and blood banks; and the names of several faculty now grace spaces on campus: Cooke, Heslin, Quimby, and Sawyer. Students wore coats and ties or dresses to class, and celebrated Winter Carnival, took Expression, and at the end of the 40s, saw the completion of a new dorm: Alumni Hall. Thank you to everyone who made a gift and participated in the friendly and fun competition! We hope it helped spark happy memories of your time at CA. Although the challenge is over, there is still time to give before the end of the fiscal year on June 30 to get your name in the honor roll of donors! Give today at cushing.org/give and feel free to continue sharing your favorite Cushing memories here!
