What CMS & Congress Need to KNOW!! Leave a reply “CMS must change the final rule to protect delivery of high-quality, life-sustaining dialysis care. Help us send Congress the message that: 1. People with kidney failure who are on dialysis must have access to high quality care. If finalized, CMS’ proposed rule would undermine both access and quality. 2. CMS proposes cutting nearly 10 percent from the Medicare ESRD system, or approximately $30 per $246.47 dialysis session. This cut is too deep; the proposed rule goes too far. 3. Clinicians, dialysis technicians, and dialysis facility administrators are doing everything they possibly can to provide high quality care in the face of substantial cuts that have already been implemented. 4. Congress must protect people with kidney failure and the ESRD program they rely on by ensuring that Medicare funding is sufficient to cover the cost of care. And Congress should tell CMS the same.”
