What Can I Do? John 13:34-35 34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christs sake hath forgiven you. 1 Peter 3:8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Micah 7:19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. Zechariah 7:9 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: Real compassion is putting your caring into action! It is much more than sympathy or concern. Feeling sorry for someone when you can see them hurting, is one thing, but doing something about it is compassion. When Jesus was here on earth, His heart was full of compassion. He reached out to all those who were hurting. He didnt just pass a beggar on the street and say, Oh, thats sad. No . . . He did something about it! Sometimes its as simple as just being there, letting someone know you care! A simple smile, or word of encouragement. Other times, it may be reaching into your pocket to help financially. Pray and ask God to put compassion in your heart for others, and ask Him to guide and direct how you should show it! Open your eyes and look around you and youll see a world filled with hurting people. Ask yourself, What can I do to help make someones life a little better?
