What Ferguson Needs: November 26, 2014 Before I went to sleep last night I asked God how He felt about Ferguson? This is what I dreamt it was very powerful. When I came to I was in someones house presumably a friend. We were in the living room and we were reading a plaque that had the goodness of prayer on it but the word love kept repeating in my mind. The next thing I know I was sitting on the couch having a conversation with a young man whom was my peer. I was explaining to him how bad my allergies were when they flared up. So I got into great detail about it; I told him that they do not begin so bad, but that they begin slightly irritated. I told him that it is not until I begin to rub and irritate my eyes further that they become unbearable. I told him that they get so bad that I want to scratch my on eyes out. The young man looked at me with bewilderment and disbelief. So he paused and said ever so simply and in matter of fact type of manner. So why dont you just go to the store and get some allergy medicine. He then offered to go and get it himself. I looked at him in amazement and laughed out loud at myself because I could not believe that the solution was so simple yet I chose to make the problem greater than it should have been had I just thought about it and got some claritin or something to alleviate the problem altogether. Here is the meaning of the dream. Our Heavenly Father is saying that the Ferguson situation does not need prayer, as the plaque in the dream suggested. God is saying we do not need Him to move on the matter in a supernatural way. He is saying the solution is simple we are just making it difficult through stubbornness and inability to forgive no matter what side you are own. What did my allergies represent? My allergies are the Ferguson situation. Any body that has allergies knows that rubbing them is the last thing that you should do despite the fact that the impulse to scratched them is so strong. So when you rub your eyes you only receive a moment of relief. Ironically for that moment of relief you will pay all day for rubbing your eyes. You will self inflict a wound on your eye so huge that you will not be able to keep your eyes open because rubbing your eyes only makes you rub them more the next time you rub them, making it markedly worse.... Now remember this great distress started from a small irritation and because of your inability to resist temptation you have scratched yourself into a situation that is far worse and could have been avoided had you resisted and taken a pill. What is the pill? I will get to that in a second. So from a precious soul being lost (Mike Brown) to senseless violence, instead of taking a pill to remove the impulse to exacerbate the situation we added fuel to the fire by choosing vengeance further stoking the fire of hate. From one death we arrive at a nation fueled by racist superficiality. As a result buildings are being burned and the allergy that is Ferguson is surrendering to the impulse of vengeance, only to make matters 10 times worse; when we could have chosen the simple and obvious pill called LOVE!. God is saying He will not answer any prayers regarding Ferguson because we have the capacity to fix the situation ourselves, we just choose not to. We love to scratch the itch that is vengeance for temporary relief and solace. But we do not know how to love LOVE enough to make it our first choice, because if we made it our First choice by loving on the situation in Ferguson we would have prevented an unnecessary amount of pain fueled by vengeance. Does being wronged justify retaliation? Does creating injustices because of injustices stop injustice? Can repaying evil with evil ever create Good? Certainly not! You must repay good in return for evil through Love. When God says to LOVE He is not talking about the definition of Love that we have grown to know in our generation. You know, the flighty I will only love you if you love me kind of love. He is not talking about the love that is conditional and depends on someone else in order to be worthy of having it type of love. Here is the LOVE He is speaking of and its tremendous power. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless. When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
