What Hinduism means to me. - TopicsExpress

What Hinduism means to me. We had in Delhi until very recently a heady cocktail of different and divergent religions.- Christianity( professed by the then de-facto Prime Minster),Sikhism (followed by a prime minister), and Islam.(professed by a Vice President,).This is so in a country, wherein, 85% of its population consists of adherents of Hinduism. This in itself an eloquent testimony to the catholic nature of the oldest religion of the world. Hinduism is the 3rd largest religion after Christianity and Islam. The “secularists” would brand unabashedly anybody, who says a few good words about Hinduism as communalists. Why has such a situation been created is a matter that should exercise the minds of all thinking people. The answer is not far to seek. There are many “secular” political parties, who are in the business of patronizing, and appeasing the Muslims for deriving political dividends. Prominent amongst them is a political party, which goes by the name of Indian National Congress. This party has done incalculable damage to the interests of Hindus and Hindu religion. This party like none other plays the dirty divisive political game. It is the worst communal party that one can think of. It is presided over by a lady in whose veins no Indian/Hindu blood flows. What does it matter to her or to her family whether Hinduism lives or dies? The worst enemies of Hindus are none other than Hindus themselves. More than 95% of members of this party happen to be Hindus. These pseudo secularists attack viciously the protagonists of our religion to curry favours of the party, to climb the political ladder and occupy lucrative and influential positions in the party or in the government. All those who follow the political events regularly, know who these treacherous Hindus are. They call themselves secular, a word grossly distorted, misused and abused. I desist from mentioning the names; for their notoriety is too well known to all those who follow the political developments carefully. There are also many other smaller parties, who have the same agenda as that of the Congress. What is the greatness of this religion that we are talking about? I do no better than giving below what some great thinking minds say about Hinduism. “After a study of some forty years and more of the great religions of the word, I find none so perfect, none so scientific, none so philosophical and none so spiritual that the great religion known by the name of Hinduism. Make no mistake, without Hinduism, India has no future. Hinduism is the soil into which India’s roots are stuck.” - Annie Besant “We have shown how much we (Europeans) surpass the Indians in courage and wickedness and how inferior to them in wisdom. Our European nations have mutually destroyed themselves in this land where we go in search of money, while the first Greeks traveled to the same land only to instruct themselves”-------.I am convinced that everything has come down to us from the banks of Ganga(Ganges)-astronomy, astrology, metempsychosis etc”-----.It is very important to note that some 2500 years ago at the least Pythogoras went from Samos to the Ganga(Ganges) to learn Geometry.” -Voltaire (During 18th Century Hinduism was synonymous with India) “Religious faith in the case of Hindus has never been allowed to run counter to scientific laws--------. Never having been hampered by a priestly order, each man has been entirely free to search wherever he pleased for the spiritual explanation of the spectacle of the universe.” - Romain Rolland “The Vedic literature opens to us a chamber in the education of human race to which we can find no parallel anywhere else. Whoever cares for the historical growth of our language and thought, whoever cares for the first intelligent development of religion and mythology, whoever cares for the first foundation of Science, Astronomy, Metronomy, Grammar and Etymology, whoever cares for the first intimation of the first philosophical thoughts, for the first attempt at regulating family life, village life and state life as founded on religion, ceremonies, traditions and contact must in future pay full attention to the study of Vedic literature.” -Max Muller “ My religion is Hinduism, for me it is the religion of humanity and includes best of all religions known to me.” -Mahatma Gandhi “Hindutwa is the core of the Indian Constitution” -Supreme Court of India (As told by Ram Jethmalani) I need say no more about the great religion to which we proudly belong. This religion has stood like a rock of Gibraltar in the face of a number of foreign invasions. The scent of fresh air blowing across India is being smelt already. Let us wait and watch with hope and optimism. -
