What I posted in the comments section of The Mercury just now: Barney Fife No one knows 100% of the facts except those involved. Assumptions and conjecture about what happened lead to a whisper down the lane effect. With that being said, if its true that Coach Cook was dismissed because one of her guards was out of certification; I believe it is a true injustice and so do many others who support her. Its been over 20 years since I was a Certified Lifeguard. If I am ever in a position to rescue another human being based on what I learned 20+ years ago, Im going to act on instinct, rescue them and let the chips fall where they may. Coach Cook had the Director of Aquatics position thrust upon her. Do you know if the lifeguard on duty was hired under her leadership or under the previous Directors tenure? Who are you barney fife? If you truly believe what Coach Kathy did was so wrong, reveal yourself to the world. The Y used to have Christian in its name. To be a Christian organization also means to be a forgiving organization.
