What I think about Brittany Maynards decision of end her own life?? Ok here I go... This was a young woman whos life had just begun. To get a diagnosis of terminal cancer must be the most devastating thing that could happen. She had a future, a new husband, a family and dreams of having her own family. To know that you are going to die makes one take notes of how they lived their life and what they will not get to experience. She was in the prime of her life, how does one prepare to die? Sure she could have fought the battle, however, SHE WAS NOT GOING TO WIN. I applaud her courage for making this decision, for putting her family first and making sure they were all taken care of. I do not look at this as suicide in any way, it is a dignified right to end your life when no other options are out there. I believe every state should have this and it is a personal decision, discussed with your family and doctor. I understand not everyone agrees with ending ones own life, however, that option should be available to the people who do. Other countries have done it for years, it is not a subject that is taken lightly or without just cause, but it should be an option available to all who wish to use it. RIP Brittany.
