What Never Forget really means! My Rebbe echo this sentiment when discussing the Torahs command to erradicate the Amalikites. He explains that the mitzva is not to destroy a people (if we did it , there would only be 612 commandments left). Rather, explains my Rebbe , we are commanded to remember the self esteem stolen from us during that brazen attack and return to holding our heads high as we follow and observe the relationship with H-shem we are meant to have.
