What Socialists Like Obama Could Learn From The Pilgrims If there is anything that you can be sure of in the world its that Obamas I like to spread the wealth around a little socialist agenda just does not work. It never has. The left {and right}sic has absolutely no understanding of our roots as a nation and what makes us, as a people, so unique in history. Think about the comment Hillary Clinton made a few days ago claiming that government creates jobs. Typical of the madness. But many Americans are surprised to learn that the Pilgrims found themselves in a socialist situation in 1620, forced on them by the stockholders of the Massachusetts Bay Company and for a short time they tried it the Obama way. They almost starved. So William Bradford and the Pilgrims instituted one historic change that was to ensure the flourishing success of the colony and change American history forever. Heres what they did... They abandoned socialist agriculture and private planting was established the following year. Here is Governor Bradfords own account from the original source documents: This was very successful. It made all hands very industrious, so that much more corn was planted than otherwise would have been by any means the Governor or any other could devise, and saved him a great deal of trouble, and gave far better satisfaction. The women now went willingly into the field, and took their little ones with them to plant corn, while before they would allege weakness and inability; and to have compelled them would have been thought great tyranny and oppression. The failure of this experiment of communal service, which was tried for several years, and by good and honest men, proves the emptiness of the theory of Plato and other ancients, applauded by some of later times--that the taking away of private property, and the possession of it in community, by a commonwealth, would make a state happy and flourishing; as if they were wiser than God. For in this instance, community of property (so far as it went) was found to breed much confusion and discontent and retard much employment which would have been to the general benefit and comfort. Of Plymouth Plantation: Bradfords History of the Plymouth Settlement 1608-1650 should be required reading for every American. But chances are, youve never seen it in the public school curriculum. And the fact is, even most private, Christian schools dont use this incredible, original source document when teaching American history. Why History Textbooks Make Sure Your Kids Dont Know The Truth Publishers of history books today have to remain politically correct in order to sell their textbooks to public school systems. But textbooks merely interpret history, they dont report it objectively. Thats why original source documents are crucial to understanding what really happened. Of Plymouth Plantation is an original source document. It is Governor William Bradfords eyewitness account of the very foundations of what would later become the United States of America. This original source material, the history written as it actually unfolded, stands as a clear witness to our forefathers true beliefs ... not the least of which was their faith in God and their desire to live as a testament to His glory and provision. Bradfords writings are an awe-inspiring legacy, which no one should take for granted. Its Up To Us To Keep Our Heritage Alive!
