Woody faces a rare first-degree murder charge because the killing happened during a robbery.He remains in jail with no bail. His next court date is March 3. Woody is accused in the Oct. 1 shooting of Shaqair Shaqair, who family described as a hard-working immigrant raising five children. Shaqair co-owned Sabatino’s Pizza and Deli, of Ballantyne Road, with his wife, Julia.Shaqair attempted to reason with Woody before he was shot, Syracuse police said. They called the murder “coldblooded.”Woody is believed to be a member of the Bloods gang, but the murder did not appear to be gang-related, police said.The robbery was captured on the store’s surveillance camera, and police said the man seen in a surveillance photo is Woody.Sabatino’s has reopened since the murder, but has been burglarized again. — Douglass Dowty
