What a day. What a team. What a result - yet again! .....Today Tina & I were happy to troddle off to Stanford Hall (not far from Lutterworth, Leicestershire) to cheer on our Wolf Runners. Not only had our new friends at Geosynthetics held a fantatsic charity fund raising day over in Hinckley yesterday (see report below), a good few of their clan had entered into Melissas brainstorm of competing in the Wolf Run over a 10K course consisting of rivers, mud, hills, mud, water slides, mud, bracken trails, mud, furrowed fields, mud..... and more mud! As you can see from the pictures, our 20-20 Voice Cancer T-shirts stood out brilliantly against the majority of black, dark grey, red & blue representations afoot. .....We found our intrepid teamsters near one of the mant tents and got the clean team photo but just look at those lovey T-shirts after 10Km of sludge & grime! ;). However, look at the first obstacle they faced-the River Avon no less-and although the weather was mild, Ill bet it was freezing in there! Although everyone had to warm-up prior to starting the prospect of that river being the last obstacle would certainly have dampened anyones ardour. The team did well, they stuck together and finished triumphant - they beat the Winter Wolf Run. They were tired, and rightly so considering what they had all just been through. They were wet, cold, shivering but happy and we left Stuart with a handful of certificates I had made for our heros & heroines of the day (as i was desparately In need of my nebuliser). ...:)The reports are that between them they have raised approximately £1,000 :) yet another fantastic effort from the Geosynthetics team and I can only bow to their fundraising prowess and I will be attempting the cement a firm relationship with these lovely people. .....Also, in the process of meeting hese delightful people I have mad acquaintance with one of the Leicester Tigers star players - more good news ;)
