What a disappointment? I spent part of yesterday watching and reading about my little buddy Justin Blackmon. You see, yes, I am disappointed in him. I first met Justin as a scrawny little ball boy working a game at Plainview that I was officiating. This kid was a character, I didnt know him, but his mouth never quit. He was funny and probably only 54 at the time. Then I got to watch him throughout his high school career, he was a awesome player, a matter a fact, one kid once told me that his team held J.B. to 50 yards the night they played him. He then went on and told me that they triple teamed him all night. That was great, the other 10 players on the field hung 50 points. You wanted to see a true athlete, go watch him play basketball. I will never forget the 1st Round of the State Basketball Tourney against Millwood his Junior year. Best basketball game I have ever watched. I have all of these great memories of Justin before he went to OSU, and the career he had there is totally amazing. I was excited when he was drafted by the Jaguars in the 1st round. I have grown up watching Plainview sports, and the talent this kid brought every day was a sight to see. Fast forward to July 24, 2014, the same kid that my wife and I loved to watch and still call friend and buddy, once again let us down. He is in early 20s, we get it, we have 2 boys around the same age, one actually played with him in high school. We also know that the thought process at that age, especially males, isnt always quite stable or there, period. Are we going to criticize him for his mistakes, absolutely not, because obviously there are plenty of people out there that know every bit of his personal business and what goes on in his head. We keep hearing comments about how he comes from a good family, STOP IT, he comes from a EXCELLENT FAMILY. He is throwing his talent away...WHO CARES, what year did you win the Bilitnikoff or sign in the 1st Round of the NFL? Do you really know talent? My personal opinion is a young man is lost in a world full of judges. Excuse me Christians, Plainview family, OSU family, and anyone else that wants to criticize him, please walk a mile in his shoes first. We all were the first to brag about knowing or watching Justin, now, we are the first to throw daggers at him? Besides, we all have our own problems to worry about, although it is much easier to get on forums and talk about his. Am I disappointed in Justin, YES, but I am far more disappointed and shocked in the people that I read on Facebook talking about what a screw up he is. I guess that is the price of being famous? But in my eyes, he is still that kid looking for the right path to take. What is your reason? Tank P.S. Please delete me if I offended you. I still believe in Justin Blackmon and am not buying that his story is finished yet. If you want to argue any of my points above that is fine, dont worry about deleting me, I will automatically delete you. This post IS NOT a democracy. I dont care what you think, whether family or friend. Excuse me, while I go read some more of your comments and then go puke.
