What a fantastic evening we had down at our feed. We again saw many new faces and were joined by our regulars. Quite a number of our recent crisis families were also in attendance tonight which was lovely to see. We even saw a very special proposal fly past - lets hope Jessica Jean was suitably impressed and made someone very happy with a positive response! Tonight we were pleasantly surprised by a visit from our local member Yvette Darth who brought platters of sandwiches which were enjoyed by many along with our marinated chicken and salad meal followed by apple or peach cake, tea and coffee. Our time with Yvette was not wasted, we were able to chat with her about the concerns we have for those in our community that really struggle and we discussed our needs as a charity for some support as trying to feed as many people as we do each week and supply emergency packs is not an easy feat. Yvette obviously has the people of Redcliffe at heart and was keen to listen to our needs. Thank you for your time and for coming and seeing what we do, Yvette. We look forward to working with you to try and improve services on our peninsula. Tonight we served out 124 meals, some were delivered to families who could not attend and we also had enough marinated chicken left over to freeze for emergency packs later in the week. Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers who did an absolutely amazing job again tonight. It is such a pleasure knowing all of you. I have said it before but our team is just amazing and it is really enjoyable working beside you all week after week. A special mention tonight has to go to our volunteer coordinator, Helen. Week after week this special lady works tirelessly for our charity. She is such a delight and does everything with a huge smile on her face. Our charity is so lucky to have her support. Thank you, Helen. With another night under our belt we look forward to preparing for another great night on Thursday.
