What a fantastic level of support shown towards our twelve hour sponsored sparring day and coffee morning/afternoon which was held today in our club premises. The registered boxers and some of the club coaches took turns in the sparring ring between 8am and 8pm, resulting in some very tired bodies by the end. Well done to everyone for going the distance. Also a big thanks to Gala Boxing Club and the Bronx Boxing Club from Tranent for coming down with some boxers to help give our boxers a wider variety of sparring. Thanks to everyone (the coaches/committee members, parents, family and friends) who helped make the day a success. The home baking stall and tombola/raffle tables were full so thanks to those who contributed to these. Far too many people to name but you all know who you are. A huge thanks to everyone who came through the door to help raise funds for the club. There was a steady flow of people all day and i hope you all enjoyed sitting down to coffee/tea whilst getting a chance to see our boxers in action. Lastly, a quick count of the money (including all donations) indicates that we have made about £900 from the coffee morning/afternoon alone and we hope that all boxers/coaches can collect their sponsor money within the next two weeks to give us a grand total for the event.
