What a great day down at the Bears to finish off our huge opening weekend. With six Junior games at home and three away the clubs was definitely busy today. Well done to all our coaches, team managers and officials for getting through Round 1. Our day started with some more history as our first teams of Under 8s took to the field and both teams had plenty of fun. Our Under 10 White team was a bit undersized but never gave in and showed plenty of promise. The Under 10 Blue team travelled away and due to some injuries played the game short but still had a real crack and fell just short. The Under 10 Orange team got off to a great start and controlled the game for a great first up win. Both our Under 12 team and Under 14 Blue team came up against some older classier outfits and whilst they put in some great efforts were no match for their opponents. The highlight for the day cam with our Under 14 Orange team who recorded the clubs first win at Under 14 level with a great disciplined team performance. The Under 16s finished the afternoon and struggled with a depleted team but will be better for run, with so many new players this team will be better with time. Overall it was a great opening day of the season for the junior Bears and great way to finish our huge weekend. GO BEARS!
