What a night LAST night at CR! We were just finishing the worship set when it went completely BLACK. I asked everyone to move to the basement of the church because the storm hit us like a wall. As everyone was making the move (in the dark), a tree crashed on top of the house that shares the property with the church. The ladies and kids went down stairs and a few of the men rushed next door to make sure the occupants (who had just arrived home were okay). Trees and power lines were down all around us. When things lightened up a ll, we were stranded at Scott Mill Chapel because roads were blocked all around us. WSB Channel 2 reporter, Pete Combs came by and interviewed several of our folks. The interview that got air time was that of a couple of our Celebration Station kids would were eager to share that they were in the basement praying that "Jesus would keep us safe." Zane Yi came up to me in the parking lot afterwards, and asked, "Do you know what happened here tonight? We went from a recovery "program" to a community." We had a few Newcomers who are convinced that CR at Scott Mill Chapel really knows how to throw a party!
