What a race !!! The best race I have ever driven in my life. Sad we couldnt win the championship, but we had to be satisfied with the end result, finishing as the runners up in this year’s 4 Hour Endurance Championship and setting up a new Endurance Lap Record of 26.95 sec. First of all I would like to thank my team – Ayesh Bäñðárà, Ashan Silva, Shanaka Bandara, Kalim Iqbal, Adam Benaway and Nigel Perera , for the wonderful support and hard work put during the entire championship. Ashan Silva – Thank you for your support and encouragement. If not for you there wouldn’t have been a team called “Gunners” Ayesh Bandara – Thanks for believing in me and for your brilliant driving. I will never forget the way you drove for the win in the first round. It was simply epic. Shanaka Bandara – You created the benchmark for pit crew service with your fast tyre changes and thank you for your expertise in setting up the kart. Kalim Iqbal, Adam Benaway and Nigel Perera – Thank you very much for your timely support and help when we really needed it. It was a great pleasure having you guys as my team mates. Special thanks to Kyle Crosland Crossland for that great battle during my last stint, if not for you I wouldnt have clocked that fastest lap. It was always a pleasure racing with you. You made the moment worth it. Overall a good growth and a good training for the next event : SLKC 6 hours Endurance Race next month. I would like to congratulate Raptor Racing Taffy Alahakoon , Charith Gunawardena and Aamir IGhaffoor for winning the 2nd 4 hour Endurance Championship 2014, Well done guys it was nicely done. Also on behalf of all teams I would to thank Kalum Piyasena and the Speedrome crew for the putting this wonderful event together. We all know it wasnt an easy task. I must thank Sudeera and his mechanics who made sure that all the karts worked well during the final race. Wish you all the very best for the future events and we will surely continue to support you to keep the Karting culture alive. Once again congratulations Raptor Racing winning the championship and thanks to my teammates and all the teams took part for this great day of racing that will remain etched in my memory for a long time.
