The Supreme Court has come up with the order which states that acid can not be sold to a person who does not have a valid identity card. Will this order actually stop the attacks? Some compensation plan has also been announced for acid attack victims. Apparently it entitles them for Rs. 300000/- compensation. Is this enough? Will it actually compensate for the medical treatment and for the mental agony and social disgrace they have to go through? This order is not retrospective, which means girls who were attacked before this order will not be eligible for the compensation. Girls who will be attacked will be eligible, how pathetic! What about the girls who have already been attacked and who are still struggling?
