What a weekend. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) As you can see, I cant stop smiling and neither can Trevor. And to think this all happened because of a bit of banter on facebook last year about Smith family being spread all over Australia and how great it would be if we could all meet up. LITTLE DID I REALIZE that Smith family were spread much further afield. Thus the idea was sown, and people were asking when???????? Oh boy, what did I SAY?????? Next thing I knew, a Smith reunion was being organised. Then we went a-stalking facebook pages for friends to contact you and notify you of the most historic EVENT that was to take place. A HUGE THANK YOU to those who responded to our call to connect. It has been a monumental task to put it together over the last 16 months. Being a relative newcomer to researching Isaiah Smith and his family [since 1997] it became a mad scramble to contact family and gather the data for the family tree. Many thanks to all who answered the call [and to those who have some info to provide, we welcome your input]. Youve no idea how many hours Trevor and I have communicated through chat ,till early hours of the morning, on facebook to gather, share and collate information, ideas, and photos etc. Oh for those who are unaware........I live in Adelaide South Australia, Trevor and Ray live in Melbourne.....so we have achieved the reunion organising over the internet and via facebook.......A huge gratitude and thanks must go to Mary [Trevors wife] and my husband Trevor [yes, there are 2 Trevor Smiths] , who have been watching the planning and organising from their family history tragic spouses. You have both been very supportive and patient beyond belief. also a big thankyou to Ray and Robyn who were also part of the planning. To those wonderful family members who embraced the very idea of having a family reunion in Broken Hill, the outback of Australia and attended the event and travelled from every State of Australia , the family who sailed their yacht from New Zealand and the family from England a HUGE THANK YOU. We hope you take away many happy memories and continue to form great friendships with us Aussie clan. This is just the beginning......we will continue to use the reunion site to keep the friendships and communication going so dont stop sending your photos, family data or any other family info, we would like everyone to continue sharing the knowledge of Smith family.......You need to know from where you came so you know where you are going.... Thankyou once again everyone and now, I think Ill have a melt-down.............What am I gonna do NOW????????????????? Best wishes to you all Lyn
