Ron Fricke *Shockingly beautiful throughout, expect the unexpected over and over and over - Come and See (1985), dir. Elem Klimov *The pile - Lilja 4-Ever (2002), dir. Lukas Moodysson *What isnt shocking in this film? - Dancer in the Dark (2000), dir. Lars von Trier *Again, the ending, holy shit - Tropical Malady (2004), dir. Apichatpong Weerasethakul *One of the first films to shock me with its structure/style - A Short Film About Killing (1988), dir. Krzysztof Kieslowski *Even though its called A Short Film About Killing, I wasnt expecting anything quite as brutal as that - The Interrupters (2011), dir. Steve James *Just see it, youll know - Inland Empire (2006), dir. David Lynch *The visuals and the soundscape - Dear Zachary (2008), dir. Kurt Kuenne *Horrifying - Christiane F. (1981), dir. Uli Edel *Incomparable realism - Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom (1975), dir. Pier Paolo Pasolini *I think you know... I dont even think I have to say, nor do I want to - In a Year with 13 Moons (1978), dir. Rainer Werner Fassbinder *Not even just the slaughterhouse scene; this film is truly one of a kind - Hunger (2008), dir. Steve McQueen *Another film to shock me with its structure/style - Silent Light (2007), dir. Carlos Reygadas *Edgar knows - Irreversible (2002), dir. Gaspar Noe *I dont even want to talk about it - Zero Day (2003), dir. Ben Coccio *If I was ranking these, this one might even be #1 - Cannibal Holocaust (1980), dir. Ruggero Deodato *Everything about this film is shocking - The Piano Teacher (2001), dir. Michael Haneke *Not just shocked by the content, shocked by how incredible Hupperts performance was - Audition (1999), dir. Takashi Miike *If you didnt find this film shocking, what DID you find shocking? Haha. Anyway, your guys turn... if you want to list some of yours!
