What are we framing today? Christmas gifts! There’s lots of activity in the frame shop these days – oodles of wonderful things have come in to frame for the holidays! This black and white print of a steelhead is a gift from husband and wife to each other. The artist hand colored the side of the fish with colored pencils, lightly bringing out a mossy green and burgundy touch of color. The lure was tied by the wife, and she also caught her first steelhead with it. The lure was carefully packed away until the couple found a picture they liked, and a place in their remodeled home for the picture to hang. We picked a forest green mat with a burgundy inner at to pick up the colors in the hand colored area of the print, and dining/kitchen area they had selected as the home for the finished piece. The frame picked up the wood used in the cabinets in the kitchen and lower wainscoting. The lure held a place of honor in the frame safely nestled in an oval opening in the mat. Don’t you think this is a great gift for a husband and wife to give to each other?
