What are you wrapped in Tee? This is the question the Holy Spirit - TopicsExpress

What are you wrapped in Tee? This is the question the Holy Spirit threw in my direction this morning as I read ODB’s commentary. Two verses of scripture drew my attention, hence, before I was able to respond, the Holy Spirit provided me with “food for thought.” Philippians 2:5, “In your relationships with one another, have the same mindsets as Christ Jesus.” Luke 2:2 “This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Come, Walk with me See Sometimes, I am wrapped in clothes that lack Empathy Sympathy Come, Walk with me, Open the door, Sometimes, I am wrapped in greed, Always wanting more Come, Walk with me, See, Sometimes, I am wrapped in pride I push my history aside To dismiss common men For I forget that at one time, I was them Sometimes, malice is my attire A quality no one admires Sometimes, anger adorns me for the day People are warned, “Stay out of my way.” Sometimes, my garment is torment Or an unrelent – ing nasty attitude That always causes feud And declares vehemently, “Whatever it is, I am not in the mood.” God, unwrap me today In my life, Have your way Strip The lack of empathy And sympathy Shred greed, pride, Put them aside Destroy anger and torment And that unrelenting Nasty attitude Give me clothes That reflect the mind of your son The one, Who relinquished his throne For a hay covered room Father, give your son’s humility A mind that loves people No matter what they do to me Give me a servant hood mentality That is free Of the desire to be esteemed, Identified by a title A name, Or needs fame Father, have your way I pray Give me the mind of Christ, Help me Father to be willing to submit to you To do what you want me to do To be willing to endure For your name Whatever pain Shame Fameless trail Father, I want the mind of Christ So that others will see The God in me And come to know As well as glorify The one who left his heavenly throne To be wrapped in swaddling clothes And made the manger bed His room Father, wrap me today
