What bothers me most about this stuff is that it cloaks itself in the language of science, but rarely has anything of substance underneath. Its all a placebo effect. Homeopathy especially, since its literally just water. The trouble is, by using scientific trappings they make it incredibly hard to distinguish between their chicanery and actual science, leaving the customer not only misinformed but ill equipped to get good information on their own. There is value in avoiding Big Agro and buying from local farmers, only because companies like Monsanto use grossly unethical business practices, and half the food is imported from China or elsewhere. I admit some concern over the homogeneity of GMO foods, as it seems like theyd be more susceptible to genetic disease. As far as health benefits though? Snake oil is an appropriate term.
