What did we get out of this decision? NOTHING. We got a fake data bill (HB1549/SB1835) that will do absolutely NOTHING to protect our childrens privacy. So please remember this. Sen. Gresham KNOWS this bill will do nothing to protect our childrens data but this will give her political cover with her constituents which she needed because of her support for Common Core. But I feel this bill will come back to bite her. The opening statement of this bill says the federal government cannot dictate standards for the state of Tennessee. Well when they make Common Core mandatory I want to see how our legislature will handle this. They will have no choice but to refuse Title 1 funding or break their own law. WHEN Common Core is mandatory and tied to TITLE 1 funding there will be no turning back. I again implore you to do whatever you can to get your children out of the system. Where there is a will there is a way. We will be back next year. Better funded and A LOT smarter. We will be doing our best to help people find ways to home school.
