What do these three educational pyramids tell us? 1. Learning must be active. A child must not passively record and memorize facts from a sitting position but rather develop an active role in his/her own education. Teachers should facilitate this child centered learning and foster the joy and discipline that makes a child take control of his/her success. A child must be the leader from the earliest learning experience. 2. That imagination is the center of any methodology. Imagination is not learned after the facts are memorized. Imagination is first. Imagination helps a child to be authentic, alive and creatively engaged in the learning experience 3. Education is not merely to create an engineer or accountant. It is to help a child become a fully actualized person, that is, a citizen functioning and contributing to the classroom, the community, the country ….. and by these actions, contribute the world. A fully actualized person is a citizen of the world.
