What do they say: Troubles come in threes? Early yesterday morning the van came early and would not wait to pick up Johnny. We had some other business in Spartanburg, so it was not the end of the world to have to take him. As we pulled out of the driveway at the New Day Clubhouse, something was wrong with the steering on our vehicle. Colleen pulled into a parking lot in front of a strip mall, and I got out to look. The front tire was flat. Well, AAA came out to fix it. Then we went to the SSA office regarding my pension check. They have a big waiting room, and almost every chair was occupied. When I got in they didnt offer much help, but gave me the run-around. Which meant we had to go back to Saluda, NC for a document from the nursing home. I skipped most of my breakfast that morning so we could get going, so we were beginning to get hungry by the time we were done in the SSA office. I had a Visa gift card that a friend had given to me. So I tried to take Colleen and me out for lunch. The first two places we tried wouldnt take the gift card. Then Colleen suggested the Copper River Restaurant in Boiling Springs, SC. We ate there. The food was really good. Colleen got crab-stuffed flounder, and I got 1/2 rack of b-b-q baby back ribs. After such a good meal, all the troubles of the day were something small in comparison.
