What do you think Ray Rices treatment of his wife (hes the Baltimore Ravens player who was allegedly caught on tape beating her unconscious) and subsequent fallout says about how seriously this country takes domestic violence? A. I think the fact that the NFL suspended him for only two games shows that we have a long way to go when it comes to dealing with domestic violence and taking it seriously. B. The situation is hampered by current domestic violence laws. It seems like law enforcement should do more in cases like these. C. This is a sad situation, but his wife didnt press charges. This shows we need to educate women on the best ways to remove themselves from violent households in order to restart their lives and put these aggressors behind bars. D. The assault was bad enough, but comments made by people like Stephen A. Smith of ESPN that essentially blame the victim show that some men need to be educated as well. E. I think this is a private matter best handled by Rice and his wife out of the court of public opinion.
