What do you think? Should the parents be held liable for their children or should they be made to make restitution until all is paid in full? Do you think these children intentionally set the fire or were they just playing around and it got out of hand?? I am very curious as to what we as a community think would be a logical punishment if they are found to have started this fire that affected so many lives??? I personally am torn, I think that it was a accident but I also believe the parents have some accountability but to be made to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for their childrens mistakes. I know when I was a kid if I broke something I had to pay for it AND apologize to whomever the property belonged to. I also dont think that its on the parents to be sued in civil court and to have that judgement against them for the rest of their lives because of a mistake their child made. A judgement against them will in effect make them not able to purchase a home or finance a car ect for the rest of their lives, where the kids can walk away with it at 18 and have it not follow them for the rest of their lives or effect their credit ect....I know this is probably the longest comment I will ever make on FB but know that my mother and step father lost their home in this fire too. I am truly sorry for all who lost things in this disaster and pray for the people involved daily, even the children and their families who were supposedly the ones who started the fire. From tragedy comes determination and as for our little town of Fritch, it will survive and thrive even in the face of devastation and I am extremely proud of my little hometown for the way they came together and took care of its own!! I am now off of my soapbox and back down to my 51 height! Thank you and have a great day darlins!!!
