What do you think about (forced) bilingualism in NB? I am hearing that the Alward government is (again) forcing the issue in its rank and file. As an example, we will soon have to have a bilingual Paramedic in all ambulances. If there are no bilingual Paramedics avail to cover a shift, they will/may take an ambulance out of service, leaving NO AMBULANCE OR PARAMEDICS in an area. If someone is having a heart attack and there is NO ambulance available, people will die. If an ambulance is available, I personally dont care what language they are speaking. Well trained, experienced Paramedics will sit at home, while patients die. How many people in NB can not speak basic French or English ?? Is this really what Bilingualism is about? Is this what your local MLA is supporting? Ask them their views before you vote. Your life could depend on it !!!
