What does a 71kg cheetah look like? Although no wild cheetah could ever really be called fat, this guy certainly got close. Legolas was above and beyond the normal size range for cheetahs (35-60kg) and although he was monstrously large, he still managed to run out of his box yesterday evening with good speed and agility. At 71kg we suspect him to be the largest wild cheetah ever recorded - a good 8kg heavier than the next heaviest that CCB has ever caught. Its amazing to see how these cats are adapting to life in the bushy farmlands of southern Africa, where size rather than speed may be an advantage.
