What does it mean to walk being led by the Holy Spirit? Well,1st it means being “full of the Spirit” “Therefore, brothers, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty.” Acts 6:3 In Acts 6 seven men are appointed to take care of the daily distribution of food to the widows. They were probably the first deacons. The requirement for the ones was chosen was that they be of “good repute, full of the Holy Spirit and of wisdom”. These phrases stand side by side and share each other’s meaning. The one helps to define the other. We see the same thing in Acts 11:24 Barnabas is a “good man, full of the Holy Spirit”. Being full of the Holy Spirit is associated from the beginning of the early church with a blameless life. Being full of the Holy Spirit is not about how well we clean up on Sunday, how well we sing in church, how inspiring our prayers are, or how thought provoking our teaching is.
