What education--by way of capital--has done is take away the familial and communal responsibilities that has been in place for thousands of years. Part of these responsibilities were grounded in the raising of children so they too could--first, learn the ways of their people and their land, and second--pass this knowledge along to their eventual offspring. This work now falls unto the hands of the institution of education where instead of learning about how to preserve their knowledge and thus culture; they are versed in the art of exploring people for their labor and the earth for its resources--all in the name of profit. However, if you are a person of color, the chances you will be the "exploiter" vs "exploitee" are remarkably slim and so it will likely fall upon you to carry the physical and emotional burden of being an underpaid and overworked wage slave. #church
