More than a few comparisons can be drawn between the sale of the 13 hectares of the Australian Technology Park and the potential sale of Newcastle´s rail corridor with its 3 heritage train stations. The Australian Technology Park includes the Eveleigh Locomotive Workshop, which is a heritage-protected site for wrought-iron and steel craftsmanship. Urban Growth NSW, a government agency that raised more than $373 million in 2014 by selling off state government properties, is managing the sale.
