What has become of this village? It seems as though I live in a whole new place now. Witchcraft is spreading like wildfire and frittering away the good faith that had persisted in our puritan village, thereby creating an atmosphere of suspicion and anxiety all around us. I am worried that soon even the bystanders of the frenzy, like myself, would be convicted of witchcraft. I attempted to turn the tide by persuading Abigail to disclose the truth but my efforts quickly failed after she shrugged off my suggestions in contempt. She seemed quite adamant in keeping the secret. Furthermore I am very concerned for Abby. Having witnessed her strange behaviour, I reckon it is a sin to continue inflicting pain upon Abby and materialising such iniquity. Hence, we should tell everyone the truth in order to put an end to this obscenity. This, though, will no doubt come at a great price that none of the girls would want to pay.
