March 12 Shawn here: I have confirmed that it is true that we have another possible candidate for School Committee. Michelle McCarthy went into Town Hall today to take out nomination papers to run for the office. Funny thing is, when doing so she was accompanied by Dan OConnell, one of the leaders of the attempt to pass the $2.9 million dollar tax increase last year. (He is also said to have gone in a couple weeks ago to confirm that McNamara had pulled papers to run). So whats up with saying Just got word? He was there both times. I do not know Mrs. McCarthy, and I look forward to hearing what she has to say regarding the reasons for her candidacy. My fellow board member Mr. Sheehan deserves the same consideration, and I look forward to hearing both of their opinions and ideas about the direction if our school district.
